PARKOUR AT HOME
TRICKS TO DO AT HOME
Use a pillow or any small object as a target and practice jumping from one spot to another. The goal is to land precisely on a small surface.
Practice a wall run by pushing off a wall and jumping a little upward (you can use a door frame or wall for this). Start with a small push and increase difficulty as you gain more control.
Use a couch or chair to practice vaulting (jumping over something). The goal is to jump over the object without pausing, similar to how you’d vault over a rail or other obstacles in parkour.
Rolling is crucial in parkour for absorbing impact after a jump. Start by practicing rolling on the floor to improve your technique, helping you land more smoothly and safely.
Try jumping towards an object and grabbing it with your hands, just like a cat reaching a high spot. You can practice this with your bed or a sturdy table to simulate grabbing an obstacle.
This involves pushing off a wall to change direction. Try a few steps against the wall and push off with your feet to change direction, practicing controlled movement.
Practice the lazy vault over an object like a chair or table. This basic move involves quickly getting your body over an obstacle without using much strength.
Practice your jumps and landings on a soft surface to improve your timing and control. This is important for developing your ability to land safely and efficiently.
You can safely practice most of these tricks indoors as long as you have enough space and soft surfaces. Good luck!
place your hands on a corner and wip your body over it.
